Counting stones Ladybug
Great they are, the ladybug countstones of Yellow Door. Use this cheerful set of stones to practice counting to 20 or to let children distinguish which ladybirds are odd and even. Or how about using the stones for simple sums. Or use them in a sorting bin and have children put as many pompoms in the box below as dots on the stones.
But of course these stones also lend themselves to sensory play. Bury the critters in a container filled with leaves and twigs or sprinkle them along the edge of an outdoor nature area for the children to discover. Each set of ladybugs contains two of each digit 0-10 (22 ladybirds) and will not fade over time.
TIP: Throw them in a sensory bin with rice and instruct children to look for the 3-dot ladybug.
