At a trade show, which focused on professionals working with people with sensory information processing problems, I was introduced to An for the first time. She is the owner and creator of SAM. I was immediately impressed by the low-stimulus pants for children who are hypersensitive to tactile stimuli.
Maybe you have one at home too… where no pants, shirt or sock are comfortable. Which you always have a discussion with when it comes to getting dressed.
Here my 2nd oldest was such a child. She always suffered from jeans that were too tight or too loose. And unfortunately, at that time, jogg jeans or otherwise fine pants did not yet exist. Socks and shoes were also often a big problem. I can still remember how many stores we went to look for a pair of winter boots that were not only nice but above all comfortable.
Fortunately, now that she is 15, she has found her way. On the one hand I see that her sensitivity is slightly reduced and on the other hand she knows which clothes are and are not comfortable and makes her own choice. This is also the case with shoes and socks.
Our youngest partly resembles his sister when it comes to clothing. He too can grumble about the pants I put ready. Then he puts on something else. He prefers to wear sweatpants, but those pockets of his buttocks…. The jeans, whether they are loose, tight or regular fit, they ‘just’ don’t fit well. Since he is also a very fidgety, the Texture Pants from SAM seemed like a godsend and I was allowed to try this one from An with him. A big Thanks for this!
And how enthusiastic he was when he put on the pants. He was so comfortable and he immediately went to examine the pockets and the fidget pieces on the pants. And you know what was so much fun… A moment later, he discovered something new on his pants. Especially the soft flap and also the loose fidgeting element on the pants were immediately favorite!
So SAM has a new fan. And good news, there has also been a lot of work on underwear for sensitive children. This line is expected in the autumn. I wish every (stimulus) sensitive child the clothing of SAM.
