Ark’s proButton™ set is a fun and engaging way to work on lip closure and lip strength, fundamental skills needed for proper speech and nutritional development.

Speech therapists have been doing a lip closure on the lip by means of a string by means of buttons since the seventies. ARK’s proButton set offers a safer, professional upgrade from that classic oral motor exercise — no more small parts or thin string to worry about!

Each proButton™ set contains two double-sided handles for a total of four different “button” diameters. The yellow handle has buttons with a diameter of about 1.3 cm and 1.5 cm (labeled 1 and 2, respectively). The green-blue handle has buttons with a diameter of about 1.7 cm and 2 cm (indicated by 3 and 4 respectively).

Start with the largest bud that comfortably fits into the person’s mouth, place the “button” in the lips (for the teeth). Have the person close their lips around the button as you pull and make a gentle “pull and pull” movement for resistance. Finally, switch to the smaller diameter buds as the individual progresses.
